Jean will be on vacation until Tuesday, July 8. The library will not be staffed during that time.
My understanding is that the campus will be closed July 4, 5 & 6. No classes are scheduled and students or faculty will not be able to card in during the holiday weekend.
The library will not be staffed on Saturday April 19.

A video w/ Fr. Fitzgerald discussing education & Jesuit Catholic traditions/contributions (2011).
The board of trustees has announced that Father Paul J. Fitzgerald, S.J. will be USF’s 28th president. He is expected to take charge in August 2014.
Father Fitzgerald is currently senior vice president for academic affairs at Fairfield University in Connecticut, but he is no stranger to the Bay Area. He grew up in Los Gatos, and he was ordained in St. Ignatius church on the USF main campus. He has also been a dean at Santa Clara University and served on the board of trustees at Loyola University Chicago and Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.
On Saturday, March 29, Jean will be in the library from 8:30am until noon. She will resume her regular hours on Tuesday, April 1. (This is not an April Fool’s joke.)
Beginning next Monday, we will have a drop-in writing tutor available on campus, Mondays from 3-7pm.
She will be offering help with writing, editing, paper draft reviews and other writing questions.
No appointments are necessary. The service is free to current students in all of our programs. It’s a trial service, so let’s make sure it gets plenty of use. It’s something I’ve felt we needed for a really long time.
Fran Ferrante, the tutor, was a writing instructor here for many years and teaches writing on the main campus. She has a good deal of experience helping USF students improve their writing. I’ve known her for years and have always found her a great person to work with.
